The Presidents Monthly Report for the California/Nevada District

Hello my fellow Exchangites,

Wow, another month gone, soon it will be Easter! Even with the stay-at-home orders and activities being restricted, time is flying by. Exchange has remained busy throughout this lockdown.

We had the annual Mid-Winter Conference on February 20th. Those of you that were unable to attend missed some really great speakers on some timely topics.

Ongoing, the last Wednesday of the month, is the “Exchange Club Mixer”. Again, interesting topics presented by various Exchange or Businesspeople. Watch for the invitation on this site for more information. It is via Zoom and is from 4:00 to about 5:30, hosted by Immediate Past President, Johnny Tai.

Don’t forget to start making plans for April National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Prevention Centers can use our support at this time. And be sure you wear Blue on Monday. “Blue Monday” promotes Child Abuse awareness.

The District and National Conventions have both been pushed out with the hope that many will attend in person. The District Convention will be in Irvine on August 28th and 29th. The National Convention in Memphis, Tennessee, will be held September 8th through 11th. With this Newsletter I am officially announcing that I plan to run for Region 1 Vice President at the National Convention.

I look forward to the support of each of you.

March 9th is “National Get Over It” day. I found the following great advice:

Always remember to forget
the things that made you sad.
But never forget to remember
the things that made you glad.
Always remember to forget
the friends that proved untrue.
But never forget to remember
those that have stuck by you.
Always remember to forget
the troubles that passed away.
But never forget to remember
the blessings that come each day.

We all have blessings each day if we just take the time to look for them.

I’ll See ya’ on the Road!

Shirley Lashmett, District President 2020-2021
